Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born 12th December 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for more than 20 years. Stories of teenage love and heartbreaks has earned her the acclaim of many throughout the 21st century. Swift was interested in music at an early time. She quickly moved up the ranks, starting as a child actor and eventually performing in front of crowds of people. Swift was just 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. In the following year Swift began to write songs and took up guitar. Swift got inspiration from musicians in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and now the Chicks to create original material which reflected the alienation that she felt around the age 13. Swift's family moved into Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was 13so she could be able to spend more time exploring records from country music in Nashville.
